A New Month

Dry Run

6x4 postcard - working out the iris for this week's Friday Collage

I spent last month "blogging" everyday as part of NaBloPoMo and drawing everyday as part of DrawMo!. Right. What did I learn?

First, in terms of "blogging" everyday, it was okay - a bit of a pain sometimes just trying to schedule it into my day. I'm not a chatty person so sitting and writing a sentence to launch out into the WWW was not an easy activity for me. I decide to "do" NaBloPoMo because on one of my many someday-do-lists is to attempt NaNoWriMo. At least I know that I can commit to doing something for 30 days... maybe writing fiction would be easier than writing about my own day!

Next, drawing everyday was more fulfilling, although it did produce a roller coaster of emotions. I have a little more confidence in my ability and plan to continue drawing and sketching on a regular basis. I may even push myself to work with more than just ink and colored pencils!

Finally, raising the bar - doing more with my time - turned out to be a "good thing"... now the challenge is to try and ask more of myself this month!

Congratulations on adding more to your day. I have been attempting to get more done by just trying to stay organized and doing like things at the same time. Like scheduling trips to the store on one day or stopping on the way home from work. It is a challenge but I do seem to be getting more done on a daily basis. Thanks for the encouragement and keep up the good work.

Love both the postcard and your Van Gogh Irises piece. Great work on both of these.

How can you possibly add more to your day? You look like you create a huge amount already.
