WIP Wednesday

Most of my work in the studio over the last few days has been in trying to get it organized - I didn't succeed but I'm still trying. I did spend a few hours getting these two pieces together. They are currently about 12 inches square. I'm going to use them for the front and back cover of a fabric journal. The theme for the book is "symbols associated with celestial bodies" and the pages will come over the next ten months as part of a page swap with some members of the Fiber Arts Friends group.

The background fabric on the sun page is bothering me but my intention is to bead or stamp various "symbols" across the surface after that I think it will be okay.

I don't plan to do much to the back cover, although when I finish the binding I'm thinking about letting some "stars" hang down.

I'm starting to get a little nervous about the Take a Stitch Challenge. I haven't prepared for it at all and I don't even know where the embroidery thread is!

Oh, gracious! Better find that thread and some fabric. . .time is ticking away!

I did some prep work tonight for the 12 x 12 x 12 so I am feeling a little more ready!

Excellent book cover Kim.
Love the colours on the front cover. Hadn't considered a decorated back cover - will have to now after seeing how good yours is!
