hello moto
My morning usually starts with an Americano. When I reached into the cupboard this morning I saw a mug that I use to keep on my desk at work. Work was ALWAYS in an urgent/crises mode - that's just the way it was. When needed, I would reach for the mug and put it on table between me and the person that was "demanding" my immediate response to something. The phrase stays with me but family demands and cellphones present new challenges in everyday life!
I was inspired to try and do something with this view out my kitchen window this morning -
but it was too cold and too white. I really needed something a bit brighter to work on.

I remember those office life days and you couldn't pay me enough to go back to them! Boy that does look like a cold view, pretty... but cold.
What a beautiful view! I hope we get some of that here in VA this winter.
That view!! Brrr - looks cold, but beautiful. Such a contrast to the weather we are having here.
I don't miss the emergencies, either.
We are without snow, too. It's been threatened for this weekend, but I'm not going to believe it until I see it.
Oh, that is excellent. I really need that today - on Fridays it seems like our workload doubles for that very reason - someone "forgot" the weekend was coming and had to "rush" order some chemicals. We always jump through hoops because the customer is always right, ya know!
I still think that kind of 'demands' you're not-quite-describing are a large part of why I opted for consulting work after a certain amount of full-time employment. I *love* my answering machine serving as a buffer and, so far, I've managed to stay successful in my refusal to carry a cell.
I tackled something completely unexpected this week but the overall result was one of insight and healing, so it's all good. Next week I'll try to get back to what I'd planned for this one, since it's already been offered and accepted as a birthday gift.
Great mug!
Well, Kim, I deliberately didn't look at yours until I posted mine, but I see we were truly on the same wavelength. I love the plaid background. I wouldn't have thought of that.
Beautiful view; maybe another time?
I just love this veiw. I am looking out at grey skies, which to some is dismal but to us that only get rain at this time of year it is beautiful.
Love that mug! Great illustration of today's everyday life. Amazing how many of the gals are including cups in their collages this month. What technique did you use to make the cell phone?
