Landscape I
The theme for this month's Friday Collages is Landscapes and in an effort to try to figure out what to do this morning I did a quick sketch.
As I started thinking about what colors would work I decided that I would use the same sketch throughout the month and "see" how the landscape changed with the different palettes and surfaced design techniques I chose.
This week I started with a beige fabric and used a variegated yarn to sketch in the lines - colored, stitched, and even threw in a little detached chain stitches.

This is great Kim. I really love landscape quilts. I need to try more of them I think.
An interesting idea to keep the same basic scene and vary it. I just posted mine. I think I'll stick to winter :)
I love this a lot, Kim! Would you believe I've managed to misplace the collage? It was well underway yesterday but now I can't find it anywhere. I guess it will appear when it's ready and meanwhile I must say that image you've created reminds me of my times in Northern California. The extremes of landscape carved-away by agriculture. I'm hoping to do something similar next week with Italian Olive groves on terraced hillside gardens ...
Great landscape! And how's that - throwing in those hand stitches??!! Well done!! (had a teeny chuckle when I read that).
What a beautiful landscape--crops in stages of growth and the beautiful mountains.
Landscapes I is lovely! The textures are great!
Good Looking!
Wow! I love all the textures.
This is just terrific...very inspiring!
