Seven-inch Square Page Swap

Door
Garden Gate

I mailed this quiltlet to Mags this morning. Her theme, for this Fiber Art Friends page swap, was "doors, windows, or garden gates." I must have been in a particularly indecisive mood when I sketched out the piece - I couldn't decided between door and garden gate, so I made both. For the front of the quiltlet, I used a commercial fabric and a recycled-dye fabric (you know, those fabrics that sit in the sludge of leftover dye - I did stamp it, giving it some interest and a new life! I think it works really well for the door.) The door opens and behind it is my note to Mags. Over the next four months, I'll work on four more 7-inch pages. Next months theme is "India" and I'm thinking peacock feathers...

They're beautiful!
I like the door a little bit better, but the garden gate is great too.
Regards.
