The day after...

The Christmas clutter was picked up and boxes put out for our regular Wednesday recycling pick up. Gifts and "toys" are still scattered about the living room and that on holiday laziness has infected us all. I suppose tomorrow we'll return to the hustle of trying to get chores and other activities done.

I've been busy making lists of all the things I want to do while reading books on living consciously and how to transcend ego-based states of consciousness. It seems a little disjointed right now but I'm hoping that I find a way to bring the dichotomy between thought and action into better balance. I must be questing some post 55 metanoia. Not so much as a who am I and where do I want to go but more of a living life with an inner contentment and a broad celebration. Sometimes I wish it was all as simple as "Don't worry, be happy!" but I've never been able to successfully make that my mantra.

Santa was very busy at our house...

We must have been very good.
Santa Husband gave me a new toy to play with - a Wacom pen tablet. I'm a little concerned about the learning curve time sync, but, ah, what fun!
Santa Wife gave him a Garmin GPSMap.
Needless to say, we've both been busy playing with our toys.

But our best gift of all was having both girls home Christmas morning!

and Santa...
Chuck-a-duck and Chicken Chucker were a real hit!
Thanks

How 'bout some book titles on the living consciously and transcending ego based states of consciousness subjects? Inquiring minds want to know!

THE pen tablet looks like fun! I hope that you tell us all about it too.

Good luck with that.

I love my pen tablet. I learned on an old digitizing tablet that was huge: the digitizing surface was about 11x17. My learning curve was to control my movements from expansive to minute twitches *smile*. Enjoy.

I'm not sure what the source of this need for improvement is, but I've been seeking, too. One of my newest activities is using the Vimala Rodgers' method of handwriting. Practice on that has become another form of meditation.

It isn't dissatisfaction with my life, but maybe just being in a place in life when I feel as if I can expand, spend more time on spiritual growth, emotional growth. The complaint free quest will never be completed, but when I fail, I just begin again. Well, I've always had a tendency to want to improve myself, but I'm looser, more flexible now. I love your phrase of "broad celebration."

Have fun with the pen tablet!
