I finished the first sock - happy dance! I'm quiet pleased with the way it turned out. I'm feeling very comfortable with my tension and basic technical stuff. It's a simple sock and didn't worry about gage. It starts at the top and the leg ribbing continues down the instep to the toe, for an excellent fit. As I was grafting the toe, I wondered if I had enough yarn to make the other sock. I got out the kitchen scale and weighed the finished sock at 36 grams. The remaining yarn weighed 47 grams - I should be okay. I determined to get the pair done before the end of the month!
Living consciously...
I was talking on the phone with a friend yesterday afternoon trying to schedule a "tea time." We chatted a few minutes on a variety of subjects included a brief foray into the purpose of life. We both felt we had many different "callings" over the last fifty plus years and we are both still uncertain what the answer is. Are we here to make a grand contribution to humanity or just to experience this thing called life?
So far my journey has been great and I anticipate the journey to come to be as good. As I continue thinking about living consciously I know that I want to enrich this journey by being more mindful every day about the path I'm on. Trying to decide on a soul-level commitment and understanding how I feel about that has been occupying my thoughts... it feels like any second now the answer is going to become clear.

Way cute. Can't wait to see them together as a pair.
