wk03-08
This was a pleasure to work. No thinking. No planning. By the time the iron had heated up, I had fabric from the scrap box selected. The only constraint I put on myself was to select design elements that link back to the first two weeklies of the year. Got that done as soon as I saw the orange fabric with the spirals on it. Forty minutes later... tah done! and I didn't even have to change the bobbin thread!
Living consciously...
Yesterday's practice, other that doing nothing, was also suppose to be a reflection on the reality that loving yourself and taking care of yourself is the best gift you can give others. Too often we are wrapped up in the demands of others with self-care and nurturing falling to the last thing on the list. Saying YES to me and NO to others is easier now. It helps to have a good life, good marriage, kids in their twenties...
Today's reading takes it another step forward - to honor your body - to start by asking "What could I do for you today to show you I love you?"
Immediately my head exploded with three thoughts/images:
Maslow's hierarchy of needs, UPS' What can Brown do..., and Nuland's How We Die.
In my twenties, I thought I was self-actualizing. I certainly didn't think that it would take to my fifties to actually get there. What am I going to do? - Keep my mind active and lighten up!

This is a fun piece.
I love the effect of brilliant light shining through those colors!
Lovely piece!
Lovely piece and the stitching is perfect.
Is that purple? (and no green? ;-0)
it does help to have kids in their 20s--that is monumental . . .
(which is why I admire Mothers)
This is lovely. I often find that the ones that come easy are the best.
