Postcard play

The monday-monday-whatever-blues had me unmotivated most of the day. I did some chores and took pills to ward off the headaches that seemed to be looming. I didn't win the battle or lose the war but I finally forced myself into the studio to make a "postcard" with the leftover scraps hanging around the sewing machine.

Living consciously...

Hendricks proposes a 'mega-rule' about relationships... they either flourish or wither in a ten second window of communication. It's clear that one his concepts in marketing his psychotherapy is this "10 second" strategy. His ten second window, miracle or move... kinda turns me off. Having worked most of my life with either artists or engineers, ten seconds is NOT a good measure for establishing or working on relationship. I've had about 79 million 10-second intervals with the primary adult-adult relationship in my life, my husband, and we still seem to be working out the communication. It both flourishes and withers - evolving as our needs do.

On another note, I did manage to watch the webcast tonight with Oprah & Eckhart Tolle. I love one of the last things he said...
Accept the is-ness of the present moment.

This is another of those great pieces that you seem to make so quickly. I like the buttons as leaves--so unusual. I have to confess I don't "get" the living consciously idea at all.

I love the way the button leaves seem to be eyes with this kind of amused expression! They make me smile.

Great design, and with jenclair, I also saw those buttons as eyes which gives it a very whimsical look. A Salvdore Dali touch.

This is very nice. I'm impressed that you just whipped it up with some scraps lying around your machine! The machine quilted flower petals add a nice touch.
