The Face in the Leaves
I'm heading up to Seattle to see Oscar Peterson - a little jazz piano and a nice dinner with the love of my life... life is good! But that did mean that I couldn't put off working on my friday collage. I knew what I was going to work on, the green man and since I was feeling pretty lazy I created this piece by sketching out the tree trunk and branches with the sewing machine. Next, I put a face on the trunk and leaves on the branches. I used charcoal paintstik to give the background some depth and then finished quilting around the leaves. A little fusible web, some shiny green fabric and I was done.

Beautiful little Green Man, and I love the quilting! Love the way your mind works, Kim.
How fun!
great very lovely piece
Congratulation on this collage and on it being #35. I love Green Men and this one is especially attractive!
Very cool. I love it. Especially the quilting part! & the EYES!
The JQC for August, the Green Man, and the Medusa are all wonderful. I especially love the quilting and subdued colors in the Green Man piece.
