Friday Collage - Wk33

I wanted a dark background for a simple still life so I set it up in my bedroom where the walls are painted chocolate brown - four black-eyed susans from the backyard, the wine from the pantry and one wine glass. I was happy with the composition and really enjoyed putting the collage together.

FOREFATHERS is the name of this collage (named after the winery and as I recall the wine was a nice drinkable 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon.) In order to make the wine glass and capture the light reflections I used a couple of Prismacolor pencils along with the quilted lines. I think I just managed to stay away from the painted-on-black-velvet look!

Kim, you did an awesome job with the wine glass! The whole thing is lovely.

i agree with Deb, very richly done and if i where you, i'd send the image to the winery...a commission could be lurking nearby :)

Fantabulous! That is really special and I agree with Karoda about sending the image to the winery. It sure doesn't look anything like painted-on-black-velvet to me.

i really enjoyed browsing your site, and love your still-lifes. i love the fabric you used for the zucchini too! the pink leaves are fun and inviting, cofesso (is that what your calling it?) is fun and last but not least the wine and flowers is terrific!
