I spent way too long today looking over Beryl Taylor's Mixed Media Explorations and Paper, Metal & Stitch by Maggie Grey and Jane Wild. Just yummy-luscious! Needless to say, where I may have been inspired, I didn't actually accomplish much.
I believe I've convinced a couple of my friends in town to join me in doing Friday Collages in 2007. I'm really looking forward to the synergy of getting together face-to-face for collaboration and review of what we created. I'm hoping that it does, also, push us more to try new techniques (from either of the two books above would be great!)
I did manage to draw today... or I guess I should say copy the work of Egon Schiele, his drawing of Femme couchee sur le dos.
I've begun thinking about what I'm going to send to the ladies that played the Arty Meme challenge. I actually decided to send pieces of my artwork to six instead of five. I was both surprised and really flattered when I saw my daughters' name in the comments. So, while I will play favorites - she likes Dali's drawing of Icarus, I'm also trying to take into account what might please Arlee, Debra, Emmy, Jen, and Jill.

Debra is easy--anything would be fabulous with your needle and thread! I am just pleased I made it into the Top 5!
