A "Weekly Collage" Marathon!

I spent the last few months successfully avoiding doing any creative work. In August I decided that I needed to force myself into the studio and attempt to re-acquaint myself with my sewing space. I spent many long moments staring at the sewing machine - completely uninspired! I was determined to catch up on my weekly collages... only 14 weeks behind! Ouch. Thinking about how much I had to do almost chased me out of the studio but I knew I had to figure out how to get going again. I started sketching some ideas (after staring at a blank sheet of paper for long moments!)The theme for June was World Travel and I found myself thinking about regardless of where we travel in the world there are things we have in common as human beings. We have a need to express ourselves through drawings(cave paintings from around the world dating back to 30,000 years)and story-telling (songlines created by Indigenous Australians), we look to the future (seeking new horizons) and plan how we get there (a compass for both physical direction and moral guidance), and we attempt to connect to something greater than ourselves (spiritual or other world connections.)

Hi!
WOW! When you get started, you really get some fantastic results. Totally awesome, beautifully stitched, and inspired by some great, well thought off themes that truly resonate (at least with me!)

Love seeing your work again! The aboriginal art pieces are great. I've always wanted to do some creative something with the rock paintings we have all over the west.
