Had a few moments to play around this afternoon. I took a piece of satin that I had dyed and stitched it to a piece of tyvek. Turned it over and used to heat gun to heat up the tyvek until I was happy with the results.
Isn't it sumptuous!

I too have a front loader and felting is a pain. Saw some "green" ideas on felting on a website www.sewgreen.blogspot.com that gave some tips for felting that uses minimal water! might want to check it out...
