I've a friend who believes we need to have "snow days" from time to time. Days when it snows so hard that you can't go out, so you might as well stay in your PJ's and have hot cocoa. I've seen weather reports on the news and it seems that a lot of the country is having those very snow storms. My apologies to the rest of the country, but today I declared a snow day. It's not snowing, it's raining, but it is Oregon and it rains. But for me, today, a snow day... I stayed home, made soup, watched a sappy Lifetime movie, and beaded. Beading is one of those activities that can consume hours and I let it do just that! I'm working on a cover page for a swap that I'm participating in, my theme is African Masks.
I'm feeling a little guilty about squandering the day, just a little, but I'll recover tomorrow... I don't think it's going to snow.
Fortnight day 10
We had dinner with friends on Saturday night and as we are about to pull out of the driveway, my husband stops and jumps out of the car, runs into the garage and starts digging through the chest freezer. He comes back with a bottle of Akvavit. If only I'd have planned better! This package has been hidden in my dresser for two weeks - next time, we'll have Akvavit in ice shooters!

If we're in each others dreams, we can be together all the time.

It's true, we all need days where we fritter the time away. Helps us work better when it is over.
You didn't fritter though did you?
You did a lot of great work on your cover.
Good for you - a snow day is necessary from time to time.
Declaring a "snow day" for yourself is a wonderful idea!
Oh, and I made the latkes last night...just couldn't wait. Added a bit more onion than called for and one less egg, and they were delicious!
