Year's almost over, knit goals done.

I was suppose to work on the last Weekly for the year but instead I played with the pen tablet.

The year is fast coming to an end and I am still tweaking and fussing with my goals for 2008. My problem is that I keep adding things to the list and nothing is coming off. Surprisingly, I'm not feeling at all stressed by it. Either the planets have all aligned in my favor or I'm totally deluding myself.

I did finalize my knitting and crochet goals...

I blame Ravelry for this! Most years I've oohed and aahed over things I thought would be fun to make or try to make. Joining Ravelry started me thinking about yarns and patterns. Knitting is an activity that I can take anywhere and I do find it relaxing. It also appeals to me as an activity because it fits in with the "Zen-like" quietness that I've been searching for. (Beading is like that, too.) Okay, for 2008...
1. Knit a pair of socks a month
2. Knit 3 projects from Cat Bordhi's A Second Treasury of Magical Knitting.
3. Knit these from Knitty: Branching Out; Tiffany; Venezia; Ice Queen; Muir.
4. Knit a couple of "Fair Isle Pillows".
5. Crochet a couple of bowls and felt them.
6. Finish or frog any WIP started before 2008.
7. Organize existing stash and needles.
8. Make swatches of patterns I like.
9. Crochet a bag using recycled plastic bags
10. Participate in 2008 Knitting Olympics

Thanks for pointing out the Branching Out scarf, I missed that one. I, too, like Muir and actually have some older (unknown) mohair in that very color of blue. I've already frogged all the WIPs and have ended up with a stash of (mainly gray) scratchy wool yarn that will be excellent for felting. Now what should I knit with it? The felted clogs are out because I found them very difficult to concentrate on and then the soles felted funny so my foot hangs over the sides. Hats? Mittens?

Branching Out is a great pattern! Enjoy it!
