Week end.

My African Mask themed page swap from Carol arrived today. It's wonderful. I love the way she used bleach to draw the mask. I like the effect. (She wrote about it here.)

Living consciously...

I been telling everyone that if the only thing I do is wake up every morning this year and say "Live consciously" I'd consider the exercise a success. Well, today my task was to carry with me an affirmation and remind myself throughout the day to take frequent ten second breaks to affirm the journey. I'm getting use to my routine of reading in the morning but holding an awareness all day was a challenge. The affirmation was: Today I make a commitment to learning and growing that is bigger than my commitment to staying the same. It's all about a commitment to potential. I've always been an advocate of life long learning, now I just need to apply it to my own cognitive behavior changes. Harness the energy wasted on low-dividend emotions such as frustration, and channel it into positive, affirming energy.

Old dog, new tricks... gotta believe!

Tally ho

keeping things like affirmations in mind throughout the day is a hard trick to learn -- the main success I've had it "tying" them to routine tasks (like when I go through a doorway; when I pour water; when I stop at a red light...)

The mask is great. I love the stitched medallions along the edge of the page... Lucky you to add it to your collection ;-)
