a stroll through the cloisters

Today was a blur of activities. Days like this I feel like I don't get anything done and I never seem to feel rested. I searched the web for images of peaceful scenes before I remembered a picture I have of the cloisters in Glouster Cathedral. (My husband actually took the photo but I remember being there as very peaceful experience.) I'm just going to stare at the image until I find all the solace I need and feel calm.

Living consciously...

The practice today was to spend a few moments appreciating nature. Lots of self-help or spiritual readings emphasize communing with nature as a way to get in touch with your essence or find stillness. I admit that I often find "peace" in nature but I also find experiencing "art" can also help me go inward and give me that sense of all is one with the world. That experience can be making art, listening to art, looking at art, etc. I mean just look at the "art" of the architecture in the ceiling of the cloisters - makes me feel a part of the infinite process of creation!

Wonderful photo. I have a real thing for cloisters of all kinds. In fact, I hope to see The Cloisters museum in NYC some day. I've also seen the cloisters look in some photos of mine tunnels in the Rockies.
