Weekly Collage

wk09-08

This is the last of my gratitude themed piece for the month of February - just a few days late - it's about 14 inches square. I had made the pieced heart on Feb 9th as a part of Thing-a-day. I was inspired by the piece I've been working on for Emmy. Her theme was 'Mandala.' Carl Jung saw the mandala as "a representation of the unconscious self." This weekly collage expresses my gratitude for being who I am.

The theme for the four weeks of March is 'Simplicity.'

I finished the page (7 inch square) for Emmy by adding a circle of blue beads, a few more stitches, and a heart bead.

Living consciously...

(I've typed and erased several different sentences trying not to sound sarcastic.) Hendricks suggest the practice of adding wonder-language to your vocabulary today in order to contrast the feeling of wondering with the feeling of "thinking you know." (For example: I wonder what the best choice would be right now?) I believe I know where he is going with this but I'm finding his 'voice' a little off-putting. I understand that to be open to miracles - to the possibilities to expand one's curiosity - is key to living consciously.

I like bost pieces. But the heart one has the edge for me. It's wonderful.

Oh this is wonderful Kim. I love the colors you added around the heart block and how the text echos the heart shape.

Beautiful! Both of them. I love the different hearts in the center of each spiral (and the text, of course).

Both are wonderful...
Question: What do they say (I'm a compulsive reader!) and how did you do the text so nicely?
I sure enjoy checking your site and seeing such lovely things so regularly!
