Mind the Gap

Mind the Gap - besides being one of my favorite saying, it is also the name of the movie we watched this evening. A sweet little film with the tagline "Who will you meet at the crossroads of your life?" I was really drawn to the original music of the film by Veigar Margeirrsson.

We almost got the new media center set up. Things just aren't as easy or simple as you think they should be.

Living consciously...

I hate exercise with "I" statements! Perhaps I've never used them right but "I feel..." isn't always the most effective way in dealing with the primary relationship in my life. I'm all for telling the truth, owning what I feel and eliminating defensiveness in my relationships with others. Telling my husband, for example, that 'I feel irritated' may seem better than telling him that he irritates me but, being aware that I feel irritated and choosing a course of action to "do" something about that is closer to how I want to practice living.

I too find the "I" exercises somewhat off putting -- I figure its because it seems that they make the centre of the universe me, what I'm thinking and feeling...
