All dressed!

I spent way too much time playing with the doll this afternoon. But I must confess, I enjoyed every minute of it! It was a nice escape. She's dressed and the clothes are sewn in place. I think I may add beads and freshen up her face but she's done for now and I'm quite pleased with her.

I'm calling her Ophelia.

Living consciously...

The practice today is basically to think pleasant thoughts about yourself and return to them throughout the day. Hendricks was inspired by:

You become that which you think. ~ The Upanishads

Your disposition will be suitable to that which you most frequently think upon; for the soul is tinged with the color and complexion of its own thoughts. Your life is what your thoughts make it. ~ Marcus Aurelius

All we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become. ~ Buddha

And I'd add...
Your mind will be like its habitual thoughts; for the soul becomes dyed with the color of its thoughts. Soak it then in such trains of thoughts as, for example:
Where life is possible at all, a right life is possible. ~ Marcus Aurelius

Our life is shaped by our mind; we become what we think. Joy follows a pure thought like a shadow that never leaves. ~ Buddha

...but then, sometimes:
Thoughts are the shadows of our sensations -- always darker, emptier, simpler than these. ~ Friedrich Nietzsche

What you think is an illusion created by your glands, your emotions and, in the last analysis, by the contents of your stomach. That gray matter you're so proud of is like a mirror in an amusement park which transmits to you nothing but distorted signals from reality forever beyond your grasp. ~ Ayn Rand

I second everyone else, and I particularly like the stripes on her legs. Interesting way to solve the hand problem too :)
