Is it Monday yet?

I am officially going crazy. It's so sad. I've had guest and assorted activities the last several days with NO TIME to get to the studio. I'm desperate to have some time to myself. I am enjoying everyone's company but... ack! I want just a few uninterrupted minutes to do sometime creative! I have one more day and then things will return to normal. I figure Monday morning I plan to go into the studio and work for four straight hours even if all I do is sew strips of fabric together!

Living consciously...

Hendricks writes of Dostoevsky's mock execution as a defining moment (no really?) and ask you to reflect on your defining moment - what did it teach you and how your can use it to guide you.

Defining moments: hitting black ice and driving off Tombstone pass; emergency C-section and birth of my first child; my sister's death; and helping with hospice care when my brother-in-law was dying of cancer. All of these things occurred before I read Tolle's A New Earth but the theme that ran through them all was accepting the "is-ness" of the situation and dealing with it by being as present as possible (of course, after the fact there was a gamut of emotional reactions.) I use to walk around with a philosophy of 'If you're are going to walk on thin ice, you might as well dance!' I'm more cautious now... the ice needs to be thicker and I don't like falling... but do let's keep dancing!

I think there was a time I looked for thin ice to dance on -- made for the most exciting dances I figured -- now I figure I can just dance whether its icy or not! :-) I haven't more become more cautious per se, but I have become less reckless!!
