October TIFC - Day One

So, here it is the 23rd of the month and I'm thinking about starting the Take it Further Challenge. This month SharonB has asked us "To think about your textile work space. How do you feel about this space? What role does it play in your life?"

This photo of my studio was taken in March 2006, oh my, over two and a half years ago. I thought I'd begin this challenge by looking at what draws me to this space. While some things have changed, much remains the same. I find a lot of comfort in the cacophony of color and the mingling of finished and unfinished pieces. I like how everything is within reach. Sometimes I think I'd like a bigger space but for what I do it has a "just right" feel to it. I can't imagine not having this space (or something like it) in my life.

Living consciously...

The practice asks: ...notice whether you compromise any of your values by trying to please [others you interact with today.]

Uh, no, I'm not what one would call a 'people-pleaser'. I believe I have a strong sense of self - both my strengths and weaknesses. I certainly hope that others in my life aren't compromising their values to please me.

I like the colors too, and they blend well with the palette. It's so neat--

kay - Ha! Over the years I've been moving closer to "neat" but never quite get there - too much stuff. I think of it more as "organized chaos" but I will pick up between projects.
