I watched a little of the House hearings on C-span with Ford/Chrysler/GM before I went to the studio to work on this weekly. As this year draws to a close, I want to remain hopeful that we've seen the worst but I fear that the economic situation is going to continue to deteriorate. "Acceptance" -- I have to believe that things will get better.
The practice today comes in holding in the mind two commitments: I commit to learning from experience when necessary, and to learning from wisdom when possible.
This one's easy and has been my companion for some time. The second one: I commit to learning from wisdom when doing so can prevent unnecessary pain for me and others. - is not trivial and harder to commit until you've had some life experiences. Viewing life from different perspectives takes time and I've certainly had my share of "owies" (may have even hurt a few along the way.) Hopefully with age, I've gained some wisdom and will continue to glean more!
