June JQC2006

I wanted to get my June Journal Quilt uploaded to blogger before the end of the month - looks as though I made it with 23 plus hours to spare! I enjoyed working on this piece - blocks of color with strong vertical lines and simple quilting in the ditch. I like the how the hand dyes and the commercial fabrics work together. The "pinkish" vertical lines are very tightly gathered and create an interesting texture that didn't photograph well. I'm going to call it "Disciplined", not for what it evokes but rather an admonishment to myself.
