Friday Collage - Wk 49

Deer in Wintry Woods

I took my inspiration from Paul Klee's Camel in Rhythmic Wooded Landscape. I love so many of his pieces so it was hard to choose but in this one I saw the opportunity to create something that reflects this time of year. In creating this piece, I used scraps from the scrap box. Cutting and ironing little pieces into 13 rows and then sewing the rows together. A quick rough top stitching and finished it off by fusing on a deer with antlers. After I finished the studio looked like a small tornado had hit it. What a mess!

Klee is one of my favorites, but in this case, I like yours even better!

I love this! Don't quite now why. Partially the dull winter palette. Partially those repeated green triangle trees. All of these are things I've been mulling over in my mind, although nothing has materialized. I can also identify with the the studio that looked like a tornado had hit.

Messes are worth it if you get these results. I love your primitive trees.
