The temper of the house has changed. Spring Break is over and my youngest has return to college life. Tomorrow I plan to take full advantage and spend most of the day in the studio!
Living consciously...
The practice for the day was to be more aware of your body. Just sense and feel and learn.
I know one thing for sure, my nearly fifty-six year old body is a lot more vocal now and quick to tell me when it's not happy. But I don't think that's the point of the practice. Knowing when to relax before exhaustion sets in, eating when the body needs fuel without over or under eating, protecting the body from stress, understanding how different emotions feel in the body... these are the things I should be building more awareness of. Some days I'm more tuned in and can differentiate some of the subtleties. Other days, not so much.

And sometimes we actually hear what the body is saying and we tell it to shut up. We always regret that.
had to smile at how calm descends at the end of spring break -- ours has just started and dear son is away for the week at a friends -- makes for an unusually quiet and peaceful time BECAUSE its spring break! :-)
