Weekly Collage

wk 45-08

Clearly I am still going through political withdrawal. My inspiration comes from the Princeton Election Consortium and their Electoral College Map where the size of each state is distorted to emphasize its share of electoral votes. I rather appreciate the diversity of the electorate and look forward to (what I hope is a) movement towards political civility.

Wisdom is knowing what to do next. Virtue is doing it. ~ David Starr Jordan

Practice: Today, focus on a single dimension of listening: interruption. See if you can go an entire day without interrupting anyone. Discover the people you have the most trouble listening to without interruption.

Unfortunately, I already know those that I interrupt -- they are the ones closest to me (or I 'interrupt' by not listening to them.) I think that over the years I assume I know them so well that I 'jump' ahead to where I think they may be going -- or cut them off before they get there. Gotta work on my listening respect, yup!

That swirly fabric is yummy! I could see that done up as zebras with that colorful fabric as the black stripes...

I was going to comment on the swirly fabric too.

Like the "no interruption" idea too.
