Weekly Collage

wk 49-08

A couple of days ago I started thinking about the month's theme of "joy" and found the Chinese for double joy...
at least I made it to the studio.

Living consciously...

It's all about responsibility, today's practice: Recognize the things you do that are linked to the behavior of others. Take full responsibility, and peel back the layers of blame and rationalization...

I have been practicing this more, especially at home! Lot's of baby steps required but I do think I've been making progress.

VERY nice! Simple, but striking.

That Japanese cleaning thing does NOT sound appealing, although I do recognize the virtues.

Joy is a great theme any time of year. Your collage looks very lovely.
And...Still enjoying your journal pages...
Do these sketches make it into fabric form sometimes? They sure look worthy of it!

How many times have we seen this symbol without consciously paying attention? Thanks for the link to an explanation.

The collage almost looks like a lantern--it glows against that grey.

Kay - Thanks. I know the clean-thing is not exactly fun but I am also trying to practice being in the moment while I do it - music help! If it pays off creatively, great. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the results.

Sande - Thanks. I'm finding that my journal pages are starting to become a integral part of my studio time and the fabric pieces I create. Who'da thunk? I'm still trying to figure out what works and how and where it's all going to take me but I am having fun with it all right now.

jenclair - I so enjoy my looking for ideas time. It's hard to call it "research" because I tend to get lost in the process. Isn't it interesting just how much we've yet to learn!

Oh, it does look like a lantern - thanks, that gives me an idea...
