What a day!

What a day. This was one of my most favorite parts of President Obama's Inaugural Address:

Our challenges may be new. The instruments with which we meet them may be new. But those values upon which our success depends - hard work and honesty, courage and fair play, tolerance and curiosity, loyalty and patriotism - these things are old. These things are true. They have been the quiet force of progress throughout our history. What is demanded then is a return to these truths. What is required of us now is a new era of responsibility - a recognition, on the part of every American, that we have duties to ourselves, our nation, and the world, duties that we do not grudgingly accept but rather seize gladly, firm in the knowledge that there is nothing so satisfying to the spirit, so defining of our character, than giving our all to a difficult task.

This is the price and the promise of citizenship.

Now what?

I've been crying off and on, while grieving and celebrating, for the last ten days. During these times I find that my creative time has been spend playing music and listening to it.
For now: I'm going to watch the coverage of some of the Inaugural Balls... At Last.

I don't think I've ever bothered to watch the Inaugural Events before; I'm so glad I did yesterday! What a remarkable speech and what an atmosphere of hope.

A very different day for me too! I never turn on daytime TV but it was kind of interesting to change the routine and listen to something new & hopeful!

I set aside the whole day and was just a junkie for the entire thing. I thought I'd sew too, but didn't because I really wanted to watch.
