Today I focused on the finishing up the two final Greek-themed fabric pieces I'm working on. I started off in my sketchbook with Μὴ μοῦ τοὺς κύκλους τάραττε. (Supposedly Archimedes said "Do not disturb my circles." to a Roman soldier.) I managed to make that something about hair in my sketchbook when really I was thinking about my own "circles" in my head. I do find that as I struggle to find inspiration I often doubt (at least certain aspects of) my sanity. I keep telling myself that the creative process involves risk. Then I recalled the inspirational Zen saying: Leap and the net will appear and ran off to find the Greek for "leap" - πηδώ. Tomorrow I think I'll return to the circle/hair drawing and see if it'll become the last Greek piece.
Rambling on...
Picked up a copy of Playing with The Enemy: Nelson Mandela and the Game that made a Nation by John Carlin after seeing an advertisement for Invictus. Looking forward to seeing Morgan Freeman play Mandela.
